Ebook About Get swept away to the beautiful and breezy Isle of Palms with New York Times bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe’s return to her “exceptional and heartwarming” (Publishers Weekly) Beach House series, set in South Carolina’s lowcountry. Two women. One summer. One very special beach house. Cara Rutledge rents her quaint cottage on Isle of Palms to Heather Fordham for the entire summer. As beautiful as the Isle of Palms is, Heather’s anxiety keeps her indoors with her caged canaries as she paints birds for postage stamps. Eventually, however, the shore birds—and a man who rescues them—lure her outside. As the summer progresses and Heather begins to blossom, Cara’s life reels with sudden tragedy. She wants only to return home but Heather refuses to budge from her sanctuary. As everything around the ladies is coming apart, they discover they can only rely on each other. Now, the two women who don’t really know each other are forced to live together and support each other as they navigate the next chapter of their lives. Featuring Monroe’s signature “lyrical, emotional, and gripping” (RT Book Reviews), Beach House for Rent demonstrates the power and strength of female friendships.Book Beach House for Rent (The Beach House Book 4) Review :
....and yet another more than great novel by Mary Alice Monroe. At any age this series hits the core of being a women, and teaches us strength, how to endure what life deals us, and how to cope and heal. So much is written into her works as lessons in life, whether in the descriptions of the environment, her uncanny way of making us aware of the importance of preservation of our wildlife, and in our experiences as we all age. My most important contribution to MAM is to make people who have not read her works, make them aware. And that, I have accomplished many times. In BEACH HOUSE FOR RENT, the most poignant part for me, was toward the end when the loggerhead appeared near Lovie's dune, a simply amazing view of life. I will keep that lesson with me for a very long time. In conclusion, the story is wonderful, the lessons important and beautiful. Once again, Mary Alice Monroe, thank you!!! Sigh…oh, this book. Written with wisdom, love, and a perfect sense of timing, this is sweet, escapist summertime ChickLit at its best.I don't know how she does it, but without exception when I read a beach book by Mary Alice Monroe, I feel like I am AT the beach. I mean…sand in my toes, the smell of salt in the air, the roar of the waves. It's just so real.Cara Rutledge and her husband, Brett Beauchamps, both 50 years old and happily married for 10 years, are living the good life on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. Cara has beautifully renovated and decorated Brett's small house on the other side of the island so it truly feels like their home. They have been sprucing up Cara's 1930s-era beach house, Primrose Cottage, in anticipation of a summer-long rental. And they really need that income, as money is tight with more bills than cash to pay them. The renter is Heather Wyatt, a beautiful 26-year-old artist, who is nearly agoraphobic. She suffers severe social anxiety and panic attacks, but she finds refuge—and possibly love—on the Isle of Palms. Meanwhile, tragedy strikes for Cara, and she retreats to the beach house in an unlikely arrangement: She becomes roommates with her renter. This is the story of how two women, who are reeling from deep and damaging emotional pain, find solace in the sand and ocean and in each other's care.Bonus: There are lots of fun facts about seabirds, shorebirds, and wading birds, many of which are endangered. This is the fourth in a seven-part series. While you can read this without having read the previous three books, I highly recommend that you begin at the beginning with "Beach House."
