From start to finish, this story captured my imagination! The setting is just after the end of WWII in a small village in Norfolk, England. The author does a wonderful job with the characters. The story moves well to it’s conclusion…no dry parts. In fact, there are several suspenseful sections when the reader cannot put the book down! It is a tribute to those hearty English people who endured such hardships and such personal loss during this very difficult period of history. I highly recommend this book! When WW2 ended, some German prisoners were held in England. This novel revolves around the relationship between one of the prisoners and an English girl. The reader will have a difficult time putting this novel down. The characters are well described and the plot is very well written.
